<p>Artikkelen ble opprinnelig lagt inn av Arendal kommune v Ann-Kristin R Jørgensen for kulturminneløypa.no</p> <p><b>Ny side</b></p><div>Videre bort forbi Rådhusgaten ligger Teaterplassen, der &#039;&#039;&#039;Arendals første tollbod&#039;&#039;&#039; ligger innebygd. <br /> <br /> Arendals første tollbod er innebygd i dette huset, som ligger ved Teaterplassen på Tyholmen. Byens første tollbod er et av Arendals eldste hus og ble oppført som tollbod i 1676 av tolder Oddmund Keyssøn Kruuse. Huset lå med gavlen mot sjøen. Det var et typisk trekk ved bebyggelsen på 1600-tallet. Den kan sees på gårdssiden av nåværende hus - der gavlen stikker frem fra hovedbygningen.
