<p>Artikkelen ble opprinnelig lagt inn av Arendal kommune v Ann-Kristin R Jørgensen for kulturminneløypa.no</p> <p><b>Ny side</b></p><div>Fra [[Kløckers hus - Arendal bymuseum]] kan man gå over plassen, det som en gang i tiden var Smalsundet, til det hvite huset med 1711 skrevet over døren, ofte kalt Sjømannsforeningens hus.<br /> <br /> Dette huset ble oppført i 1711 av Ellef Thomassøn, sønn av Thomas Ellefsøn som bygde nabohuset. Etter at foreldrene døde, flyttet han over i deres hus, mens han overlot sitt til sin sønn. Slik bodde Ellefsen-slekten i disse to husene i fire generasjoner. I 1805 kjøpte Morten Michael Kallevig huset.
