I 1894 meldte Hamar Arbeiderforening seg inn i &#039;Centralorganisationen De forenede norske Arbeidersamfunn&#039; under partinavnet Arbeiderdemokratene, som <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">var under ledelse </del>av juristen Johan Castberg fra Gjøvik. Arbeiderdemokratene utgjorde den radikale <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">fløy </del>av partiet Venstre i perioden 1894 - ca. 1920 og hadde stor oppslutning i Hedmark og Oppland med flere stortingsrepresentanter. Formålet med foreningen var &#039;at bidrage til sine Medlemmers Oplysning, Dannelse og økonomiske Velvære samt berede dem en nyttig og forædlende Underholdning og et hyggeligt Tilflugtssted i sine Fritimer. Dette Formaal søges opnaaet ved Afholdelse af Foredrag, Oplæsning eller Diskussion om almengavnlige Emner, selskabelige Sammenkomster, Læsning af Blade og Tidsskrifter samt ved Udlaan af Bøger&#039;. I 1894 meldte Hamar Arbeiderforening seg inn i &#039;Centralorganisationen De forenede norske Arbeidersamfunn&#039; under partinavnet Arbeiderdemokratene, som var under ledelse av juristen Johan Castberg fra Gjøvik. Arbeiderdemokratene utgjorde den radikale fløy av partiet Venstre i perioden 1894 - ca. 1920 og hadde stor oppslutning i Hedmark og Oppland med flere stortingsrepresentanter. I mellomkrigstiden ble navnet endret til Radikale Venstre. Hamar Arbeiderforening var i mange år eier av forsamlingslokalet &#039;Arbeidersamfunnet&#039; i Grønnegate. Her utfoldet det seg et omfattende forenings- og selskapsliv.</div>
