Sønn av Johan Christian R., gift med Iduna R. Cand. theol 1890, var lærer forskjellige steder i Christiania 1891-1905, fra 1897 samtidig hjelpeprest i Gamle Aker. Ble sokneprest i Tingvoll i l905, prost i Indre Nordmøre fra 1909. Var en dyktig fotograf, det finnes en hel del bilder etter ham rundt i hjemmene i Tingvoll og Straumsnes. Var også en ivrig lysbildefremviser. Tingvoll Bygdemuseum, Tingvoll, har 10-12 store fotografier med inskripsjoner og en god del lysbilder etter ham.
