Selskapet het fram til 26. september 2008 Mediehuset Vårt Land, og fra august 2009 tok selskapet navnet til sitt datterselskap, Mentor Medier, som fikk det nye navnet Ad Fontes Medier. Mentor Medier eier og gir ut dagsavisa Vårt Land, samt har en eierandel på 66 prosent i Dagsavisen. Ut over dette eier selskapet Sunnmørsavisene AS (90,1 prosent) som igjen eier Sulaposten og Lokal Nytt. Mediehuset Vårt Land har gitt ut Dagsavisen Vårt Land og Folket. Folket var en Oslo-basert avis for «deg som jobber i rusfeltet eller av andre grunner har behov for å holde deg oppdatert om behandling, forebygging, politikk eller forvaltning». Avisen ble utgitt første gang i 1919. Det startet som et ledd i kampen om brennevinsforbudet. Etter hvert ble avisa et naturlig talerør for avholdsbevegelsen i Norge. Bladet var eid av Mediehuset Vårt Land da avisa etter flere års opplagssvikt og usikkerhet i forbindelse med pressestøtten for 2007 ble lagt ned 1. april 2006. Nettoopplaget i 2005 var 2589 eksemplarer.
